Rickitt Mitchell celebrates International Women's Day

To kick off International Women’s Day, we spoke to the female leaders at Rickitt Mitchell to get their views and advice when considering a career in corporate finance.

Victoria Molloy, Operations Director, highlighted the importance of flexible working and how it can play a huge role in achieving increased female representation in senior roles.

"Attracting more women into corporate finance is only part of the solution. We must also focus on retaining and supporting female talent throughout their careers. By embracing flexible working and family-friendly policies, organisations can help women maintain their career progression and reach senior leadership roles. This is essential if we are to address the underrepresentation of women at the highest levels of our industry."

We discussed the importance of attracting more women to pursue a career in corporate finance and what advice we would give to someone just starting out in the industry and what steps we can take to retain this female talent. Another issue throughout the professional services community is under representation of women in senior roles, we discussed what we can do to address this by supporting and enabling women in our industry to maintain their career paths.

Charlotte Potts, Corporate Finance Manager, shares her thoughts on how to overcome long-standing industry biases and the importance of embracing risk.

"Don't be deterred by the male-dominated nature of our industry.  See it as an opportunity to work hard, be successful, and stand out from the crowd.  Don't limit yourself because of the fear of how something might play out, take the leap and enjoy the journey.
